Fast Cars Don't Always Win....

The crew waits for the feature to hit the track and Chris and Paula many moons ago

Just another thanks to Phillie Chastenay for filling in last week at Canaan. With Cory on his honeymoon and Tim at the race in Bristol, Phillie was on the radio spotting for the night. Chris was comfortable in the car with a familiar voice on the radio. Mr. Chastenay also filled in as the pit reporter for the night. Great job thanks again.

Thanks to all of the hard work the staff and volunteers have done at the track you would hardly know that IRENE had devastated the Canaan Fair Speedways.

After spanking the wall the last time out, Tom got the car looking good, Larry straightened the body out, Tim and Gary brought the rear end up to Distance for a rework, and Chris put it all back together and put the set up in it. Team 27 tried something new for the first practice and it wasn't quite to the drivers liking. The car was fast 2 weeks ago so Instead of trying to make the new set up work we changed it back to where we were. It was good enough for Chris to go out and win his heat. The feature was a little different. The 27 started in eighth, got behind a slow car and went straight to the back. That sucks when you have a fast car. After settling in Chris moved up a few spots then got behind the 15vt. Joey was loose and using a lot of track. Chris looked high a couple of times nothing up there, then looked low and finally got the nose up to the door of the 15 going into turn 1 and got chopped.  Not sure where the spotter was but I hope he was enjoying his hot dog.  Lost a few spots there and got the black flag pointed at us????????? We worked our way back up to the middle of the pack by mid race. This is the part where it gets sketchy! Chris was behind the 53 coming off turn four, and the 53 ended up going around on the front stretch after contact with the car on his outside. Chris says he never touched him. {Watch the video} The 53 ended up hitting a post in the infield and knocking the toe out. That sucks because they had a good car. The 27 would have had something for them but ran out of laps and settled for fourth.  We were happy with that considering the way the race went.  Until Next week....

Good Racing = Fun Racing

Well seeing the team reporter decided to go to Bristol I have been asked to do the write up this week. Chris asked me to fill in for Cory this week and spot for him because he was going to be away on his honeymoon. I was more than happy to help out as our team has not been racing lately. The crew made me feel welcome, it is nothing new though I am always bugging them at the garage. The night was looking like we would have enough time to get the show in with Hurricane Irene looming in the states to the south of us. We took the track in practice and the car was pretty loose for the first ten or so laps Chris spent about 25 laps on the track and it got a little better but he said he felt like the tires were giving up so we didn't make any changes to the car after that practice. The boys got the new set of tires ready to scuff in the final round of practice. We reset the sway bar and set out for the final round. The car was really good just a tick free and we made an adjustment for the heat race.

I think we started 6th in the heat race and stayed on the outside for most of the race. The car was going good we were just stuck behind the 49 and couldn't go forward. we were up to third but by the end of the heat we took the 5th spot. Chris was happy with the car so we left it the way it was for the feature.

The feature came around and we would be starting 11th. We missed the first big wreck that the 29F caused putting several cars in the infield and tearing the 53 car up pretty good. No need for that in the first ten laps of the race. We were up to 7th at that point Chris continued to move forward and made it up to about 5th when Bruce Jaycox took a ride off turn three down through the grass. The car was really going good on the topside. Chris got by a couple more cars and was up in the 3rd spot for a few laps and he was there to win not ride in third he made a challenge on the top to try to get by Donnie Lashua but just couldn't get by and Tyler Alati got back inside him and they put on a show battling for 3rd. Tyler would win the battle when Chris came off turn 4 and got in some fluid (we think) the car snapped loose and slammed the right rear into the wall then he made a hell of a save and was able to hold off Scott MacMichael for the fourth spot. All in all a good night and everyone had fun. Congrats to Bucky Demers for the win and Donnie for 2nd and Tyler for 3rd.

We ran the in car camera again. You can find them on www.youtube.com search Chris Bergeron Canaan.

Today the storm rolled through Canaan and the pits are badly flooded hopefully there is minimal damage.

Congratulations to Cory and Tina on their recent Marriage here's to a lifetime of Happiness!

Until next time,

Phillie

So Close.....

The editor in chief was not at the track this past weekend so here is just a quick note.....

We had a good night at the track this week.  Chris started in the 9th position and worked his way up to the front.  On the restart after a caution Chris found himself on the outside of 36 Tyler Alati they battled for several laps side by side.  Chris just could not clear Tyler as his car was pretty hooked up.  Chris slipped up which allowed Tyler to pull ahead and the 08 of Lashua to slide into second.  We followed Donnie to get by the 36 and had to settle for 2nd.  Good clean racing the way it should be.

Bergeron Racing will not return to the track until August 27th, as our son is getting married August 20th.  You would think that they could have picked a non racing night.  Ha Ha just kidding.

Congratulations to the 08 Donnie Lashua on his win and the 36 of Tyler Alati for a strong 3rd place finish.

Boxed In

Another good night at Canaan for Bergeron Racing.  We made some changes to the set up this week and found the car to be even better than the week before.  The new Distance Chassis really responds to subtle changes.  The car was good in the first practice; it just needed one small adjustment.  For the second practice we bolted on four stickers and scuffed them in.  We started in the rear of our heat and just tried to run a heat cycle through the tires while only running a few hard laps and finished fourth.  We missed the show last week so we started at the rear of the field in the 30 lap feature, 13th.  With only one caution flag in the race, the cars got strung out fast.  The 27 was coming up through the pack pretty quick until it got behind the rolling road block we call Aaron Fellows.  During the pit meeting, the race director explained what he had seen from different vantage points on the track the previous 2 weeks, and he wasn't happy with what he saw.  He let the drivers know that Canaan is a 2 groove race track and that they should get in one and leave racing room in the other groove.  Running another car up to the fence and chopping would no longer be tolerated.  After the pit meeting Chris and Aaron talked about how they really appreciated the tracks commitment to making the racing better and how sick they were of getting behind a car that wouldn't give them racing room in either groove.  That talk was all fine and well until Chris got behind the 29f in the feature and was racing for fourth.  The 27 is usually good up top so Chris tried to go around the 29f coming out of turn four, Yup right up to the fence.  One or two more looks upstairs with the same result.  A couple of looks on the bottom showed the 29f coming off the high side right to the bottom in the corners.  WHAT THE HELL.   Chris thought maybe Aaron lost radio contact with his spotter and his mirrors had fogged over and didn't realize we were right behind him.  This went on for a few laps so Chris gave him a few nudges just to let him know he was there and would appreciate some racing room.  What we got instead was the black flag pointed at us, when in fact the 29f should have been shown the PIGGY FLAG.  Chris figured that if Aaron was willing to put us in the fence for one position then he could have it, he settled in for a strong 5th place finish and we would keep the car in one piece.  Team 27 will be back at Canaan on August 6th for another action packed night of short track racing, hope to see you there.

Congratulations to Scott MacMichael for the win.....

Victory Lane for Booger and Team 27

Finally the 27 is the first to the checkers.  When Chris comes in from the first practice and says don't touch a thing the team knows the car is good.  In the heat the car got a little high on the back stretch which allowed the 29 of Aaron Fellows to get a run and get a nose in on the 27 going into turn 3.  The 29 came in hard, Chris came down thinking he was clear, you guessed it the 27 went around [just racing]  With only a couple of laps left Chris brought the car in. While waiting for the sun to go down the track hosted a meet and greet on the track which allowed the fans to come down and meet the drivers.  This proved to be very popular.  A friend of the family brought their baby girl down to see the car.  Little Bella crawled all over the hood of the 27 and had a ball.  We were thinking this could only mean that Lady Luck would be with us in the feature.  Sure enough, after a restart or two, the 27, the 7 of Scott MacMichael and the 29 of Aaron Fellows lined up to finish 1,2,3. Thank-you Bella, we hope the good luck stays with us for the rest of the season.

Bergeron Racing will not be racing this coming weekend.  See you July 30th at Canaan Fair Speedway.

Podium Finish for Team 27

After getting the car back together from the crash on June 29th, Chris and Paula spent the Fourth of July in Maine on a much needed vacation and the crew enjoyed a night of racing from the grandstands at Canaan.  It appears that team 27 is headed in the right direction with a second place finish at Canaan Fair Speedway on July 9th.  Chris started 12th in the feature and made quick work of getting to the front.  There was lots of racing action with Chris, the 29X of Allen Fellows and the 7 of Scott Macmichael.  Chris worked his way up to second and tried his hand at getting around the 29X but after being hit on every restart and getting door slammed in turn 1 after every restart it eventually allowed the 7 to get under Chris.  Chris and Scott raced side by side for quite a few laps without touching once {the way racing should be}, but the 29x was using up some race track and neither one of them could get by him.  Finally, Chris fell in line in third and let the 7 have his hand at getting by the 29x.  Going through turns 3 & 4 the 7 and the 29x tangled taking Donnie Lashua with them into the wall.  Chris went low and stayed in the throttle and made it through the wreck with the lead and 6 laps to go.  On the way through the big one a car came down and smacked the right front, knocking the toe out and damaged the front fender.  After a long red flag to clean up  the mess the 27 started on the pin with the 73 of Joe Tetreault on the outside.  The car just wouldn't turn and the 73 went by.  After 1 more restart with the 27 on the outside the 73 kept the lead and we held on for a second place finish.  Team 27 will be back at Canaan fair Speedway on July 16.  Hope to see every one there to enjoy the Ricky's Race for Kids show.

CONGRATULATIONS TO JOE TETREAULT AND TEAM 73 FOR THE WIN

Mechanical Woes take Down Team 27 Yet Again

You guessed it! We fought the rain again at Canaan Speedway and wish the rain had won. Yes the car is fast if we can only get rid of the gremlins. The car was good in the heat and the beginning of the feature. Chris was just trying to be patient and was in fourth going for third when the car in front of him slipped up and we got turned into the wall by the car behind us. Chris jumped on the binders and saved us from having to clip the car but in the process there was another part failure that left the 27 with no brakes, this time in the left rear. Race over.

NEVER ATTRIBUTE TO MALICE THAT WHICH IS ADEQUATELY EXPLAINED BY STUPIDITY

JUNE 25, 2011

This week The Canaan Fair Speedway paid a very impressive tribute to one of its own this week. David Hollinger an assistant tech man over at the dirt track passed away this week after a courageous battle with cancer. With one of Canaan's best car counts yet, all of the race cars came onto the track, lined up three wide and did a few laps in honor of Mr. Hollinger. He would have been proud, from Team 27 our condolences. R I P.

After making a few changes from last week, the team utilized all three practices to get the car as good as it had been the week before. Starting on the outside of the front row in his heat Chris made short work of taking the lead. With a few cautions thrown in, the 27 was able to hold of the beating and banging of the car that finished second. This is the part of the night where it should have rained but it didn't. The 27 started fifth in the feature. The race director should have told the boys in the Late Models that 3 wide was for the tribute only. Yup the cars up front went 3 wide on the first lap that, didn't work all that well. But Chris missed the mess. On the restart the cars up front got mixed up again over in turn 3, one of them spun and came back up across the track in front of the 27, Chris was able to stop in time but got hit in the rear full tilt by one of the cars behind him, which knocked the rear-end out from under the car. After taking inventory of the bent parts we are happy that we don't have to pay a tow bill too. Then as we were loading up the bent car the rains came.

Chris is going on vacation with his best girl Paula for the Fourth of July week, so team 27 will be idle. See you back at Canaan on Saturday July 9.

Disappointing End to Subway 150 @ Canaan

Lady luck looked down on the 27 once again! After much anticipation, the weather cooperated and the Late Models were able to get a show in at Canaan. Most of the cars that had qualified for the 5000 dollar to win show made the return trip. The 27 started 19th . Before we were able to move forward we got spun over in turn 1. Just racing. Chris was happy with the car and after the restart was making progress towards the front when around lap 50 a lapped car unexpectedly slowed in front of him. When he got on the brakes there was a part failure in the right rear brake causing lots of smoke. With no brakes Chris brought it in. End of Day. Team 27 will try our luck again at Canaan Speedway on June 11. See you there.

Congratulations to Joey Pole for grabbing the well earned $5000.

Canaan Fair Speedway 150 Lap 5K to Win Show

Team 27 was looking forward to a good run at Canaan on May 7th. We started 9th in our heat. The car was good and Chris was heading for the front when he was punted off turn 3 by a hot shoe that flew in from the Carolinas. Both were sent to the rear, needless to say there was not enough time to recover in the heat. After a few repairs it was off to the consi. Chris started 9th in the consi and worked his way up to the last qualifying spot when the checkers fell. 21st is where we were to start in the feature. THEN THE RAIN CAME. The track officials did a great job drying the track. After a 2 hour delay they were able to run the late Model B feature. Then just as the main event went onto the track the sky opened up again. The make up day is scheduled for June 5th. Bergeron racing will be back at Canaan on Saturday May 21st to run in the weekly series.

Practice Day 2011

Bergeron Racing brought the new 27 car out for a shake down at Canaan Fair Speedway this past Saturday. Chris was very happy with how the car handled. The team is looking forward to our first race at Canaan Fair Speedway on May 7th. Looks to be an exciting year for Bergeron Racing. We have no set schedule, but the team has decided to spend a majority of our time at Canaan. Stay tuned to the site for more info on our schedule, news from the garage and from the track.

Week Two at Twin State Speedway

We started the season off on a bad note... With a new setup in the suspension the first week Chris could not get comfortable with the car, which resulted in an eighth place finish. This was not acceptable for the Bergeron Race Team. We went back to basics on the chassis setup the following week. The car was very good out of the box, and we won our heat race. For the feature we started on the pole and lead 37 laps in a caution filled race. The car started to get tight towards the end, which opened the door for the 31 car. When we came into turn three on the outside of the 31 car, the car came out from under Chris. This resulted in a drivers side impact into the concrete wall. We are not sure if we cut a left rear tire or if something broke in the rear of the car. As the damage was too extensive to determine what the cause was. We had to do extensive repairs to the car and the driver. We did not race on week three do to Chris was still not feeling well enough to drive!  We will see you at the track this coming Friday.

Pictures from the Photoshoot and Practice Day are on the Multimedia Page.

Practice Day at Twin State Speedway

We went to the Sunday practice session at Twin State Speedway this past weekend. The car was going pretty good after a little fine tuning. It seemed good to get back into the swing of things after a long winter. The first session the car was pretty good, but Chris was not quite happy with the car. So, we made some changes and it made the car worse for the second practice. We ran a few laps and brought the car back in. Again, we made some changes and the car was rolling pretty good when we went back out. Then we got caught up in an unnecessary incident on the track, causing damage to the car. That ended our day a little earlier than we wanted. We've been in the garage every night getting the car ready for this Friday nights race.

We would like to thank Jill for an awesome job taking pictures of the car at the track on Sunday.

The Gray Car

Bergeron Racing ran this car for one season with good success.  We became overwhelmed with the maintenance of two cars and the financial burden.  We sold this car at the end of last season to a team based out of Canada. We wish them great success with the car, as it was very fast and consistent.  We would like to thank the Hayward Racing Team for giving us such a great deal and the opportunity to purchase this car.  We Just hope we never have to compete against it, because we know how fast this car can be.  This was the first year that we ran a car without orange in the paint scheme and we were not sure how it was going to look. Phil Chastenay of Phil's Signs and Stripes once again did a great job of representing our sponsors and making the car look great.

Stayed tuned for some more pictures and our 2010 Schedule to be posted on the site soon.

March 2, 2010

We would like to apologize for not keeping the website updated.  The team has been busy getting the car ready for the up coming season.  We had a new front clip put on, painted the chassis, had the motor freshened, and installed a new body. We finally got the car painted last weekend and are putting the finishing touches on.

Bergeron Racing is currently committed to running at several venues for the 2010 season.  The team is expected to compete in a couple of American Canadian Tour events.  Races on the Bergeron Racing teams schedule will be held at the Twin State Speedway in Claremont, NH, Lee USA Speedway in Lee, NH and White Mountain Motorsports Park in North Woodstock, NH.

Bergeron Racing is expected to run a full schedule Friday nights in the Late Model Division at the Twin State Speedway.  Chris and the team have had much success at the Claremont track with multiple championships to their credit.

Another focus of Bergeron Racing will be to attempt to qualify for an invitation to the ACT sanctioned event at New Hampshire Motor Speedway in Loudon, NH. This event is held in September in conjunction with the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series weekend events.

Here are a few pictures in the meantime.  Members of the team are avid hunters, here is Chris and Cory with their prizes from this off season.  Also a couple of shots from the shop.  Check in soon for another update.

We have been off to a slow start at the WMMP so far this season. We have been struggling with the Goodyear tire issues as a lot of the other teams are.We have made a couple of changes to the chassis setup trying to get the car to go better. This past weekend the car was a little bit better, but we got caught up in some mishaps and finished 16th. We will be attending the ACT Tour race this coming weekend June 27th at the WMMP. (They did run the ACT race and due to the webmaster being so slow this was not up in time....sorry guys) Chris had a great run going until he was dumped on lap 131 by the second place car for no season ruining a possible top ten finish.

The Car is getting close....

The team is working hard to get the car ready for our first race at Lee USA Speedway on Sunday April 19th.  It will be an ACT Tour race so we will be running against the best of the best in the Late Model division in New England.  Last year over 50 cars attempted to make the show so we will have to be on our game.  Last year we made the show surprising many people and after starting twenty fourth in a field of thirty cars we were able to come home with a fifteenth place finish after being caught up in a few wrecks.  After that we will be starting our season at White Mountain Motorsports Park in Woodstock NH.  The team is going to put all efforts into bringing the Late Model title to Claremont, NH.  With the recent addition of another Distance Racing Late Model to the stable we are more prepared to do that now.  The plan is to have both cars race ready very soon.  The primary car will be the WMMP car and the other car will be the ACT/travel car.  We anticipate running ACT races at Twin State Speedway and White Mountain along with some weekly shows at Twin State, Lee and Thunder Road.  Check out the progress on the WMMP car so far.

Bergeron Racing Announces 2009 Plans

The Bergeron Race Team had a meeting last weekend and have decided that we will be running a full season at the White Mountain Motorsports Park. We will run a few ACT Tour races and make a few shows at Twin State Speedway.
We really enjoyed racing at the WMMP last summer and look forward to running a full season this year.

The car is home and the guys are anxious to start tearing it apart. They are going to strip it down to the bare chassis and get it ready for paint. We will keep you updated as we progress.

2 for 2 at Twin State Speedway

What a way to end the season. The Bergeron Race Team had another awesome weekend at the Twin State Speedway's Fall Challenge. Even though Saturday did not start out so great, Chris drew the #40 for his qualifier position. This had him start dead last in the 10th spot for the heat race. The car was pretty good considering the track condition with the weather and all, and he managed to qualify fifth. After a long day with rain delays our race was rescheduled for Sunday.

Sunday turned out to be a much brighter day. We started the feature ninth and by lap 27 we took the lead to never look back. At the half way point a caution had come out and we started on the outside pole. We passed the #73 Guy Caron on the outside and sure enough a another caution came out before a lap was completed. So, we restarted again and this time we stayed in the front for the remainder of the race with the #73 and the #81 hot on our tail. We managed to pull away towards the final laps and took home the victory.

Another thumbs up for the crew of the #27 for all of their help and support on another great season and a fast race car.

We would like to thank all of our sponsors for their great support in another successful season.

**A special thanks to a true friend Phil Chastenay for all the hard work he does keeping the car looking so great, because the driver tends to mess up his fine work every week. Thanks again Phil great job.

Bergeron Racing will definitely make more of an appearance next season at the Twin State Speedway, but the team has not made a final decision on were we will be racing for the season. Check the web site for updates throughout the winter.

Congratulations to the #34 Team on a championship year at Twin State Speedway.

9th in the Mountains

The car was really good this evening. We started 5th in our heat race and finished second. Then we ran in the semi feature starting fifth and took a second place finish. For some strange reason we started the feature eighth. Even after starting seventh the week before and having a DNF due to the radiator getting damaged. At the start of the race we got pushed back to around the thirteen position and managed to make it back up to sixth. Then on a restart with twelve laps to go we sure enough were in the wrong lane once again and went backwards. We managed to pull a ninth place finish. We had a great time running at the WMMP this summer. We would like to congratulate the #83 team on their championship season. Our next stop will be the open show at Twin State Speedway on September 27th.

A few new pictures will be added later this week.

Domination @ TSS by Phil Chastenay II

Paula Bergeron told me since I was at the race this week I should do the write up.  Well what the hell I will see how my journalistic skills are other than my ranting and raving on the bnbracing.com website. In no shape or form are the opinions stated in here Bergeron Racings feelings.  Well maybe they are but they didn't tell me to write anything in particular actually they probably don't want to know what may come out of my mouth....lol

Bergeron Racing made their presence felt this week when they made their triumphant return to the track they called home for their whole careers until 2008.  They were crowned the Pro Late Model Champions in 2007 and decided to take their show on the road in 2008 after a statement was made at the track last season by owner Dennis Fleury.  This did not sit well with Chris and his team.  They have been together for many years and after last season they decided maybe the grass was greener someplace else after all they had achieved their goal of winning the Championship against some stiff competition I might add.  This season has been up and down for their team it has been successful despite what the neighsayers have said would happen to them.  With tough competition throughout the New England area the team knew it would be anything but easy.

Success came quickly for the boys in orange as they invaded Lee USA for the opening ACT race.  I heard around the tracks that these guys would never make the race and they didn't have a chance.  They surely did make the race and other top guns went home one of whom just won a huge race at Thunder Road and Busch East Series Standout Brad Leighton.  This was a victory in itself for the Bergeron team.  They had a very good car for the race but got caught up in someone elses mess two times in the first 25 laps of the race.  They fixed the car and brought it home in the 15th spot not bad out of the 30 that started the race and 50+ that attempted to make the show.  The ACT schedule was something that the team had looked at but it was deemed not very cost effective for them to follow weekly.

They next decided to run at White Mountain Motorsports Park.  The first week they ran they won.  Serving notice to the boys in the mountains that this was indeed a team to be reckoned with.  Chris told me hey when you start up front it can be easy.  My response to him was a win is a win and you still have to be good to finish it off.  The consensus amongst the team was that they all felt really welcome at this track and they would end up racing most of the summer there.  Some nights went really well and others ended in utter frustration.  There were nights they felt like they were singled out and other night they just had great runs.  10 races has produced 8 top 10 finishes for them along with 2 wins.  They normally have around 18 cars a week so even getting in the top 10 can be tough.  Recently the team made a few major chassis changes in effort to go faster which they struggled with at first but now they seem to be getting it figured out.  Some mid week testing and a few races have got the 27 running great again.

That leads us to their return to Twin State Speedway.  Chris said the car was pretty good in practice but he changed a couple things to help get it through the corner better.  I did not see practice I got there in time for the heat races.  Chris started in the back of his heat race and made a few passes and I believe he won it.  I might be wrong on that though my brain is feeling a bit fried tonight....lol.  Chris came on the track for the feature lined up in the 9th position.  You could definetly see where the Bergeron fans were sitting in the pits and the stands by their bright orange shirts.  The crowd let him know they were behind him by the loud cheers from the grandstands.  The green flag dropped and it was on.  Chris methodically picked his way past cars one by one.  I swear some of these guys should learn there actually is an outside groove they could do a lot better if they actually tried to race out there instead of just chopping down on someone.  That being said there was a little bit of scrubbing going up through the field and on lap 14 Chris passed the 11 car to take the lead.  Luke Hinkley and Aaron Fellows got into it on the track resulting in a caution not sure if this was something that started in the heat race but they had been bouncing off each other for a couple of laps.  On the restart Hinkley smashed the 29 followed by a brake check which put the 29 up on the hood of the 31 machine.  This was enough for the officials as it was called down the 31 of Hinkley was DQ'ed for the night.  On the restart the 11 car got the jump on Chris but the 27 just kills getting in the turn he had no chance.  Chris drove off to a comfortable 15 car length lead and was never challenged for the remainder of the race.  The 11 came home second and the 37w of Weasel Riendeau was the beneficiary of the 3rd place spot thanks to Dennis Greenwood chopping the 25 of Dallas Trombley on the white flag lap sending them both sideways and allowing the 37w to scoot past them for the 3rd spot.  Chris stated in victory lane that the speedway looked like things were getting turned around and improvements have been being made.  Getting Todd Rook in the tower is one of the changes making a difference.  I personally thought the racing was very good.  It was nice to see decent car counts since what I saw at the beginning of the season was dismal.  Chris told me the team will return to Twin State again this season for the open show at the end of the month.

I want to thank The Bergeron Team for allowing me to hang out in their garage from time to time.  You guys are a great group and I am proud to sponsor you.

Frustration in the Mtns....

Another bad week at the WMMP. We started 4th in the heat and got pushed back in the outside groove by cars that were not handling. We managed to make it back up through to qualify. This gave us a seventh starting position. Again in the feature we got stuck in a lane that did not go and we went backwards. On lap nineteen the cars in front of us checked up and we got spun from behind. When the car was going around another car hit the front of the 27 car and damaged the radiator. This ended our evening.

This Friday night we will be making our first race of the season at Twin State Speedway.

Experimenting.....

Sorry for the delay in the updates on the last couple of weeks.

On August 9th we ran a 100 lap feature at WMMP. We started in the eleventh spot and we just rode it out for about 60 laps. We were fortunate enough to miss all of the wrecks. When we decided to go to the front we made it to forth, but could not go any further. The cars in front of us were just as fast as we were if not faster. Congratulations to Dan Colby #60, Quinn Welch #78 and Randy Potter #82 for the win.

On August 16th we took the weekend off, because it was a makeup ACT Tour race that we did not qualify for due to vacation.

This past weekend August 23rd we were back at the mountains. The car was pretty good in the heats. We started fourth in the second heat and finished second. This gave us an eleventh place starting position for the feature. The car was totally out to lunch come feature time. We dropped back to fourteenth or fifteenth at one point and managed to miss all the wrecks once again. We finished the night in ninth position. Not bad for how the car was handling. Since we are not points racing we have been trying different setups in the car and it did not work out this week. We will be back again next week and try again. Congratulations to Orin Remick #21, Dean Weber #30 and Stacy Cahoon #83 on his this weeks win.

More Rain.....

After a lengthy rain delay and a slick race track we managed to finish eighth at the WMMP.  Not bad considering the car was a little tight in the center and started to run hot.  We had to back off and get some clean air in order to cool the car down.  We had to start the feature behind the last qualified car due to our previous weeks win. This gave us a 14th starting position.

Bergeron Race Team will be taking a week off from racing. We will be back at the WMMP on August 9th.

Rain.....

We got to practice before the rain came....then the evenings events were cancelled.

July 17th 2008

Awesome night for the Bergeron Race Team.....

We started 4th in our heat and got pushed back to the rear in the outside lane. We just barely beat Oren Remick in the #21 car to the finish line and qualified in the 6th position.
In the feature we started seventh and made it up to the second spot in just a few laps. We made several attempts to pass the #62 car and could not get past him. When the caution came out on lap eighteen we managed to get past the #62 on the high side and never looked back. We lead the remaining 32 laps for the win. The crew did an excellent job on getting the car hooked up.
We would like to congratulate Oren Remick and Stacey Cahoon on their 2nd and 3rd place finishes.
We will see you again this coming Saturday.

Congratulations to Destinie Marland the winner of the Bergeron Race Team raffle of the Claremont Cycle Depot bicycle at this Saturday's kids pit tour at WMMP.

July 5th White Mountain Motorsports Park

Bergeron Racing was back at the WMMP again this Saturday night. The evening went much better than the previous weeks. We brought the car home with not much damage and did not even get put to the rear.
We started second in the 3rd qualifier and managed to win even after an incident with the 47 car. He just did not seem to have a handle on his car and drove up into the side of our car and spun himself out. This gave us a sixth place starting position in the feature. It was a wild night with numerous cautions. We were on the outside most of the night with cars side by side in front of us. We got pushed back to tenth or eleventh place at one point and managed to get back to sixth. This was the best the car has handled all season, but we just could not go anywhere with the cars stacked up in front of us. We were happy to finish sixth with how rough it was up front and to come home in one piece. We will be back at the WMMP Saturday July 12th.

Rough Night for the Bergeron Racing Team.....

Chris struggled throught the night and brought the car home in one piece, hopefully we will have better luck next week.

Weekend of June 13th & 14th 2008

Bergeron Racing has a Bad Weekend.....

It definitely was Friday the 13th at Lee USA Speedway. We got caught up in an accident on the front stretch and it all went down hill from there. We managed to get back on the track and got spun out two more times before the end of the race. J.R. Baril went into the wall hard and was taken away in the ambulance. Lee officials called the race with 37 laps in and we managed to take a sixth place finish. The crew worked very hard that evening and all the next morning to get the car ready for WMMP.
The weekend did not get any better, we missed the first practice at the WMMP. We went through tech before our qualifier and was told everything was ok. We started fifth in our heat and qualified third. Then we had to go back through tech and got DQ'd for ride height. A different tech person checked the ride height and said it did not pass.
They really should both be on the same page. If we had known it was not right the first time we went through we would have fixed the problem. So we started dead last in the feature and got caught up in a wreck on the first lap. So, all in all we had a very bad weekend and look forward to getting the monkey off our back. The crew will be in the garage all week getting the car back together for this coming weekend.

Chris claws his way back to a 7th Place Finish at WMMP

Well the evening started out good. We went out for practice and the car was rolling. Chris started in the 5th position for the heat race and finished 3rd. The car was a little loose, so the crew made a few adjustments. We started the feature 7th and the car was going pretty good. On lap 13 Chris went inside of the #12 car for the fourth position and was clearly up to his driver door, when the #12 came down and spun out. His spotter must have been eatin french fries or something and did not see the bright orange car. The track put us to the rear and gave the #12 car the fourth position back. I hope the track would make the same call if the shoe was on the other foot. Anyway we managed to get a 7th place finish and had a lot of fun. Congratulations to Stacey Cahoon and the #83 team on their win. We will be racing this Friday evening at Lee USA Speedway and if all goes well we will be back at WMMP on Saturday.

Rain continues to put a hold on Bergeron Racing

WMMP rained out last weekend, but we look forward to racing there this coming weekend.

Chris takes 6th at WMMP

We had another good week at WMMP. Chris started 8th in his qualifier and finished 5th. He had to start 12th in the feature due to his win the week before.  We finished sixth which we consider a very good run. There are a lot of competitive cars in the WMMP late model division. Congratulations to the 47 team on their win. We will see you again this Saturday....

Chris Wins @ White Mountain Motorsports Park!!!

Chris started the NAPA Auto Parts Late Model feature on the outside pole thanks to the lucky Todd Murray drawing #1 on the redraw for the second heat race. Chris took the lead on lap two to never looked back. The race went green to checkered with no cautions. Rick Thompson in the #8 finished second and Dan Colby in the #60 took third. Our crew would like to thank everyone at WMMP for making us feel welcome at their facility. Also, we would to thank all the competitors for racing us very clean and professional. We look forward to going back to the White Mountains again this Saturday along with the PASS Tour. Come on up and watch some great racing.

Chris lead every lap and dominated the Late Model feature at White Mountain Motorsports Park tonight!!  Story coming soon....

Bergeron Racing will be at WMMP Saturday!

Lee was rained out yet another week, we are not sure we will get back there. We went to the White Mountain Motorsports Park on Saturday May 10th for their car show and practice. We had a great time and the car was rolling by the end of the practice sessions. What a great facility, everyone there was friendly and very accommodating. We will be racing at the White Mountains this Saturday May 17th at 5:00 PM.

Bergeron Racing will be at LEE USA Friday!

May 7, 2008

Bergeron Racing will run at Lee USA this week the rain cancelled racing there last week.  We will give it another shot this

April 30, 2008

Bergeron Racing has decided to run at Lee this Friday May 2nd.  The team decided with the amount of teams planning to race at Thunder Road this week end they will make their trip up there at another date.

Chris Comes Home 15th in ACT Debut!!

April 23, 2008

Bergeron Racing is pretty happy with our first race running with the ACT Tour. Fifty cars showed up to qualify for the Governor's Cup 100 at Lee USA Speedway. The 27NH qualified fourth in the second consi race, which was a great accomplishment with this many cars trying to make the show. This gave Chris a 24th starting position out of 30 cars. He managed to finish the race 15th. Even after getting caught up in a wreck on lap four causing front end damage to the car. Our next adventure will be May 3rd and 4th at Thunder Road in Barre VT. We will be attending the car show and practice on Saturday and trying to make our second ACT show on Sunday.  Check in later for pictures from the race.

2008 Schedule Starting to Shape Up

We will be going to the Thunder Road car show and their practice day to shake the car down and get some experience at the high banked track.  The crew is excited to get out there and try something new to them and meet all of their new competitors and the officials.  A quick update on the car. We picked up our new motor last week from Butler McMaster. The motor is in and the car is almost ready to go. Phil has just about completed the lettering and the car is looking good. Cory should have some updated pictures of the car which will hopefully be posted later this week.  Keep checking in for updates.

Maine Indoor Karting

March 12, 2008

The team had a bachelor party for Todd Rook. Chris is the best man in the wedding so the team took a 3 hour trip to Maine Indoor Karting Center to hammer on the go karts. . Most of the crew attended in all 12 people went and 11 of us ran the karts. Todd and the rest of the crew had a blast, this may possibly may turn into a yearly trip for the crew.  Check out the newest pictures that have been added to the media page.

February 21, 2008

The car has been painted and is ready to be lettered. We are still waiting for the new motor which should be done this week or next. Other than that we are ready to go racing. When warmer whether hits we are going to have the trailer floor bullhided inside and 6 or 8 inches up on the sides. That is pretty much it for now. We are pretty sure we are going to the Thunder Road car show because practice is right after the show and we are racing there the next day.  Check out the newest pictures that have been added to the media page.
